Why Wolf71?
So, why Wolf71? The number part is easy, and you can probably hazard a guess where that comes from. So what about 'Wolf'? Well, I have loved wolves since I was young, and thought it would make an effective and memorable domain name.
The European or Common Grey Wolf, Canis Lupus Lupus, was once common in many parts of Europe including England, but having been hunted close to extinction as a result of a mixture of primitive mediaeval beliefs and paranoid madness, the European Wolf can only be found in the wild in the remotest parts of the continent.
While the wolf retains its status as a creature of myth and legend, the way we see them today is thankfully no longer shaped by lurid old wives' tales. That said, efforts are still having to be made across the world to protect these wonderful animals and their rapidly decreasing habitat.
To assist in this ongoing effort, five percent of all my fixed-price design packages will be given to the Wolves and Humans Foundation, the only registered charity in the UK dedicated to the conservation of Europe's large carnivores - the wolf, bear and lynx.
